Sneha Proposed Residential School In Delhi

Title of the Project:

A New Residential School Building in Delhi for the Chakma Children of India.

Aims of the Project:

Short term:
i. To establish a residential School in Delhi to make the Chakma and Hajong literate.

ii. To give the Chakma and Hajong children exposure and opportunities.

Long term:
To build the confidence and capacity of the children through value-based education based on the five core universal values truthfulness, righteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence.

Target groups and beneficiaries:

Thousands of underprivileged Chakma and other deprived children.

Facilities of the school:

1. An English Medium Co-educational school based on CBSE Curriculum from class VI - XII.
2. 28 well ventilated and airy classrooms.
3. Three well equipped physics, chemistry and biology laboratories.
4. One library with computer facilities for reference and research.
5. One computer centre for the students and the staff.
6. One large assembly cum Auditorium.
7. A creative room for Music, Drama, Art, etc.
8. Two rooms one for the Principal and other for the Vice Principal.
9. One large room for the teaching staff.
10. Two rooms for the non-teaching staff.
11. One conference room for staff and management committee meetings.
12. One room for indoor games and recreation.

Dormitories for the 500 students.

Total Project Cost:

Approximately Rs. 4,80,00,000.00 (US$ 1.2 Million)

i. Infrastructure: Rs. 4, 19, 55,000.00

ii. Land: Rs. 50,00,000.00

iii. Other Non-Recurring Expenses:Rs. 10,00,000.00

iv. Recurring Expenses: Between Rupees 35 lakhs and Rs. 50 lakhs in one year.
